Uniform Gifts to Minors Act and the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act
In 1956, the Uniform Law Commissioners (ULC) introduced the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act (amendments were added in 1965 and 1966) and all states and jurisdictions in the United States have adopted this Act in one of its forms. In 1983, the ULC introduced the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act. What the Gifts to Minors Act began and the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act continues is a “custodianship.”
Ohio’s Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP) is a program that allows “high school students in grades nine through twelve to earn college and high school graduation credit through the successful completion of college courses.” According to the Ohio Department of Education (www.ode.state.oh.us) students may choose one of two options:
